Course Overview

This workshop develops the skills required to deal with all decision-making situations. Processes will be introduced and practiced so that each participant will be prepared to be a more effective and efficient decision-maker. As well, a variety of powerful decision-making tools will be introduced so that participants can choose specific techniques best suited to specific situations.

  1. Individual aspects
  2. Organizational views
  3. Types of decisions
  4. Appreciating the range of decision-making styles available
  5. Applying cost & benefit analysis

Solution That Work:

  1. 6 steps to solving all problems
  2. Discovering the steps of 'creative' problem solving
  3. 8 decision-making techniques and tools

Deciding on the Best Decision:

  1. Using an Evaluation Alternative Solution Chart
  2. Using a Weighted Criteria Matrix
  3. Using a Paired Rating Technique
  4. Assessing risk

Contigency Planning- Be Prepared:

  1. Assess difficulties inherent to the implementation process
  2. Analyze why difficulties may arise
  3. Develop plans
  4. Establish the acceptable minimum effectiveness level
  5. Prepare contingency if minimum effectiveness is not reached
